Dr. Hegewald looked at my x rays and MRI and said he could fix my foot so I could walk. I had surgery 11/2024. I am now walking normal, with out pain, with out an AFO. Wearing cute shoes.

Dr hegewald did an excellent job on repairing my ankle. I wasn't able to walk because my ankle was sideways. Now my foot is straight and I will be able to live an active life. I will always be indeted to him.

He gave personal attention and... read more made himself available for questions and concerns throughout my recovery. He met with me on several occasions and was encouraging about my healing journey. He even called my bluff if I wasn't working as hard as I should towards that end goal. I appreciated this greatly! His staff were incredible as well. They were very personable and genuinely interested in how I was doing during each and every visit or phone call. He reassured all doubts I had during this process. I have been fortunate enough to be ahead of schedule in my healing and I believe that's partly due to the encouragement and support I have received throughout this process. I highly recommended Dr. Hegewald and his staff to everyone I have spoken to about my journey and will continue to do so.

I'm immensely grateful to Dr. Hegewald, his skills, and thoughtfulness, and the time I'm living in. A century ago, I would have continued my life with a clump foot. In January 2024, I've had a bad fall (doing something so mundaine like taking out the recycling) and broke my... read more tibia and fibula in in multiple pieces. The ER doctor prepared me for a long healing journey ahead as he referred me to the OSMC. The operation with Dr. Hegewald took twice as long as anticipated since he had to, literally, put the puzzle pieces that were my Fibula back together and make sure no bone debris was left behind. Usually, I like to follow my bodies cues with medications in general however Dr. Hegewald's treatment plan was so spot on, I followed it to a T managing post op pain and healing. Both, Dr. Hegewald, and Felicia have been most kind, patient, and encouraging through the entire process, helping me navigating through this experience with confidence. It is now middle of September and I'm happy to report that I've just walked 12.000 steps on Wildwood trail without pain or discomfort. I'm still healing and regaining my full ankle mobility but I can say, with confidence, that if you're in a similar position as me, you'll be in the best hands with Dr. Hegewald.
