Jenny Maronek graduated from the University of Wisconsin La Crosse with her master’s in occupational therapy in 2019. She returned home to Green Bay, Wisconsin where she began practicing in outpatient occupational therapy treating patients ranging from hand to shoulder orthopedic conditions to neurological conditions. She also expanded her expertise in programs such as work hardening and conditioning, return to driving and bariatric programing. Simultaneously, she worked in acute care with patients who recently had various orthopedic procedures and assisted with return to home training to improve their recovery outcomes and rehabilitation experience.  She escaped the cold Midwest and moved to Oregon in 2022 where she further developed her love for the upper extremity and became a Certified Hand Therapist in 2023. Since 2023, she has continued growing her passions for both the upper extremity and improving patients’ quality of life through multiple continuing education courses focused on the upper extremity and became a Certified Aging-in-Place Specialist.

In Jenny’s free time she enjoys taking advantage of the Pacific Northwest beautiful hiking opportunities, traveling the country and world, completing woodworking and home improvement projects, enjoying the company of her two French bulldogs and volunteering as the Local Program Coordinator for Multnomah County Special Olympics.

Message to Referring Providers

“I take a highly collaborative, communication-driven approach to care. I work closely with referring providers to ensure treatment plans align with surgical protocols, rehabilitation goals, and patient needs. I routinely review referral instructions, provide updates, and support continuity of care.

Since beginning my career in 2019, I have focused on conservative and post-operative management of the upper extremity and achieved my CHT in 2023. I also bring experience in work hardening and conditioning, bariatric programming, return-to-driving services, and acute post-operative training to help ensure patients achieve the safest and most successful outcomes.”

Frequently Asked Questions

How long will it take to fully recover?
Recovery timelines vary depending on the condition and procedure. Many patients recover in a few weeks, while others require several months. Together, we will set realistic goals, monitor progress, and help you return to your activities safely and efficiently.

What can I do at home to speed up recovery?
Following your home exercise program, practicing proper ergonomics, and using splints or supports as recommended can make a meaningful difference. I’ll guide you through activity modifications and provide clear instructions to support your healing.

Will I be able to return to work, sports, or hobbies?
Most patients are able to return to their regular activities with time and guided rehabilitation. We’ll progress your strength, mobility, and function step-by-step and tailor your plan to your lifestyle and goals.

How can I manage pain during recovery?
Pain management may include ice or heat, splinting, gentle exercises, and activity modifications. If pain becomes a barrier, we’ll adjust your treatment plan to ensure you remain comfortable while making progress.
